Sports Medicine OUTREACH

Sports medicine deals with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of injuries and conditions related to sports, exercise and any type of physical activity. From repetitive strain injuries to older sports injuries to sports-related tears and sprains, Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic offers teams of sports medicine physicians, therapists and athletic trainers to address these issues.

We aim to get you back to the sports or activities you love as quickly and safely as possible. We’re proud to have a longstanding tradition of supporting local athletes, including at local high schools and post-secondary institutions including the University of Tennessee, Carson-Newman University, Maryville College, Lincoln Memorial University and Johnson University, as well as One Knoxville SC, the Knoxville Smokies and the Knoxville Ice Bears.

FAQ

Yes, Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic (KOC) can supply certified athletic trainers (ATCs) for medical coverage for sporting events outside of Knox County Schools (KCS) athletics. KOC has the right to refuse coverage of any event which conflicts with the ATCs' normal job responsibilities. Any event that is not included in the ATC job description will be charged a fee and must be approved by KOC’s Director of Sports Medicine Outreach and a supervising KOC physician. This includes, but is not limited to, KCS off-season sport camps as well as off-site, for-profit tournaments.
