Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic is proud to welcome two new fellowship trained surgeons to their practice. They are both currently treating new patients at all three KOC locations in Knox County.
Dr. Kristen Ploetze was drawn to hand surgery because of the dramatic impact it has on a patient's quality of life. She finds it gratifying to enable a patient to return to work using their hands or to continue their hobbies and interests. Dr. Ploetze specializes in treating fractures of the arm, elbow, wrist, and hand. She also treats tendon and nerve injuries. Dr. Ploetze takes pride in treating common hand complaints, such as carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, and thumb arthritis.
Dr. Ploetze and her husband are excited to explore the outdoors of East Tennessee. She spends her free time kayaking, hiking, and playing with her two dogs.
Dr. Austin Davidson is a lifelong Tennessean. His father is an orthopaedic surgeon and always served as a role model. Dr. Davidson was drawn to the foot & ankle subspecialty because of the breadth of patients and surgical procedures – anything from a little toe to reconstructing the entire foot and ankle. People often take their foot and ankle for granted until it starts to bother them. It gives Dr. Davidson great satisfaction to be able to offer non-surgical or surgical treatment that will help get them back to where they want to be. He specializes in trauma and post-traumatic disorders, athletic injuries, and ankle arthroscopy.
When he’s not in the clinic or the operating room, Dr. Davidson enjoys traveling, biking, home improvement projects, watching sports, and spending time with his family. He has a wife, Molly, and two amazing daughters.
