Patient Testimonials

"For several years before my bilateral total knee replacements done by Dr. Matt Naudad, I had a significant limp & pain that caused me to dread even walking through the grocery store. I put the surgery off for a few years trying to find an alternative fix for my knees. In previous years, I had been an avid hiker. For the past 10+ years I had not been able to hike at all. I thought that I would never be able to hike to Mt. LeConte again ever! Thanks to the skill and expertise of Dr. Nadaud, I was able to hike to Mt. LeConte again on April 12, 2015, which was one year & 3 days after my knee replacements! Needless to say, I was thrilled to be able to do that! At 4 1/2 months after the surgery, I could ride my bicycle as far as 18 miles at one time & rode avidly until winter. Prior to my surgery, I did a lot of research to find the best surgeon to do my knee replacements and Dr. Nadaud's name kept coming up as one of the best in our area. From my perspective, Dr. Matthew Nadaud is the best! Because of him & his excellent work, I have been able to get my active life back! I will always be grateful for that! Thank you again, Dr. Nadaud!"

"I had five knee surgeries before my double knee replacement. I had major pain, swelling, and giving out of the legs before the knee replacement surgeries and afterwards I feel like a whole new person. Now I have no pain, swelling, or problems with my knees giving out. I wouldn't be walking without pain or any problems today if it weren't for God, Dr. Herman Botero, and the therapy I received at OrthoTennessee Therapy.

After my first knee replacement surgery I was able to bend to 130 degrees within three weeks. When I went to therapy they gave me an exercise to do for a month before my second surgery. After the second surgery, I was able bend my knee 130 degrees within one week. It took 2-1/2 months on my right knee and 1 month on my left knee for me to be able to walk without any assistance. Dr. Botero did an amazing job with my surgery and I couldn't have asked for a better doctor. Also therapy was a major key in my healing process. Brigina Wilkerson and her assistants were great with my therapy and the process of healing."

"Since Dr. Luke Madigan operated on my lumbar back, I can now live my life free of pain and know that as I age further I will remain able to move normally (and without discomfort), which I couldn't do before. Dr. Madigan was 'right on' as to how the operation would go and how my recovery would progress. He was thorough and reassuring in his explanations. My husband asked 'How many of these have you done?' (since we are 'old poops' and everyone looks 18!)...and when he heard Dr. Madigan's experience he said 'Wow, that'll do!' I could not be more pleased with my care and the outcome!"

"Thanks to Dr. Herman Botero, I can walk without any pain since I had my knee replaced on March 25th 2015. The following day I was released from the hospital after my initial therapist visit, no one could believe how well I was getting around. On Friday I could actually walk without the walker but I used it to help maintain my balance during the recovery. My first outside therapy session saw that I could bend my knee at 110% instead of 90%. I believe that my recovery is so great because I had a doctor who knew what he was doing and also because I started working on my exercises the first night in the hospital. I was bound and determined that all would be renewed after surgery."

"I have prayed and searched for a doctor for years that would be so kind and gracious to assist me in relieving the pain in my wrists that was operated on by another surgeon in 2007 and 2008. I couldn't do anything about it and it kept me up many, many nights. I searched for years for a doctor that was special in that way to take me in and be caring enough to do everything he could to relieve my symptoms. That is very important to me and makes Dr. Robert Ivy a true specialist. He knew what to do and didn't suggest any procedures that could hinder me further in the future. He commits to the care of his patients. I admire him for taking on my situation that other doctors would not touch within miles. He has helped me more than any other doctor that I have gone to.

Dr. Ivy has given me several options of care for my wrists that help decrease the pain when they hurt so bad that I feel like I can't take it anymore. The tens unit gives me relief on the worst of days and the patches work great when I have to mop the floors or do activities around the house. The injections of cortisone shots instantly took the pain away for days. Being his patient and what he did for my wrists, was the greatest I've felt since surgery.

Thank you, Dr. Ivy, for taking me in as your patient and helping me deal with this life changing experience. My life will never be the same, but knowing there are still people that care about people makes me very blessed. I'm blessed to have you for my doctor. I will certainly recommend you to all my friends and family members."

"Thanks to my total hip replacement performed by Dr. Herman Botero, I can now lead a normal life again. I could not walk, sleep, or sit without pain. Thanks to Dr. Botero, after only 3 weeks I am back to almost all of my normal function and my pain is gone! I would recommend Dr. Botero to anyone who is in pain. He is a wonderful choice for your surgery."

"I am a 33 y.o. male with avascular necrosis in my femoral heads. Dr. Herman Botero recently performed a right total hip replacement on me. He used an anterior (frontal) approach to replace the hip and this surgery went perfectly. I had the other hip replaced a few years ago using the posterior (back) approach by another surgeon. The anterior approach is much less painful in my experience and I appreciate that he took the best approach and not the easiest when operating on my hip. The anterior approach has left me with so much more mobility and much less pain than the normal posterior approach and I am really grateful for that. It actually doesn't even compare to the pain associated with the first surgery. I am legitimately amazed by how well this whole procedure went. He and his staff treated me with nothing but care and respect. I felt as though they really cared and I wasn't just some random patient. I would highly recommend him to anyone I knew that needed orthopedic knee or hip care."

"I am 33 y.o. and unfortunately, I have avascular necrosis. Due to this illness, I have had to have multiple surgeries. Dr. Edwin Spencer has operated on me 4 times over the past 3 years (2 shoulder core decompressions and 2 partial shoulder replacements). I have nothing but great things to say about his skill as a surgeon. All of my surgeries went perfectly and because of him, I am still able to work as a firefighter with no restrictions. I was treated with great respect every time I visited the office by him and all of the staff. He and his PAs took time to sit and talk with me and explain all the details of my illness and the procedures that should be performed. I would recommend him to anyone needing orthopedic care on the shoulder or elbow. What he and his team did for me is nothing short of a miracle in my mind."

"Thanks to Dr. Herman Botero, I can once again walk without pain. I was dealing with hip pain for over 4 years and the total hip replacement removed the pain within weeks. Dr. Botero was very professional and had a great bedside manner.

I would recommend him to anyone. Thanks for giving me my activities back!"

"I woke up on Thanksgiving morning unable to walk, sit, or stand. Basically, I was miserable. I had shooting pain down my right leg and I have 2 small boys to take care of. Dr. Luke Madigan performed a Lumbar Discectomy with revision and now I can move again. I have my life back, I am able to do the things that I want and my kids have their dad back!"
– William, Crossville
"After my Rotator Cuff and Upper Bicep Tendon Repair by Dr. Paul Becker at KOC, I can once again do anything I wish! But Dr. Becker suggested I stay off of Ripsticks! Also, a shout out to Shane from the physical therapy center! I feel great!
– Jeff
"I can now walk with my left leg just 4 weeks after surgery, thanks to Dr. Herman Botero and my care at KOC. I am using a cane but feel great and have no pain. Dr. Botero did a great job and it all went just as I was told. My incision is more on the side of my knee and shorter than all of my friends' incisions. It has healed nicely with little discomfort. I certainly recommend Dr. Botero and working with the entire staff at KOC and at Park West was a very easy, smooth and professional process. The therapy department at Fort Sanders West has been great and have taken me through the therapy process with so much care and personal interaction and have made my recovery a very smooth process. If you are considering or need a knee or hip replaced call KOC and ask for Dr. Herman Botero, you will not be sorry you did. If, in the future, I need my right knee replaced he will be the doctor I call. It has been an excellent experience with little pain through the whole process. If you do this let me tell you that the most important thing you can do is the therapy at home just as they tell you to do and your recovery should be so much better and quicker. Oh, and don't forget the ice, it is so very important and they even give you an ice cooler device for your home therapy. I've been through a number of surgeries and this has been the best experience by far. Thank you Dr. Botero, your staff and the therapy staff at Ft. Sanders West."
