Dr. William C. Brooks became inspired to pursue a career in orthopaedic surgery to help athletes and anyone with an orthopaedic ailment return to their passions after a firsthand experience. He was treated by a physician at Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic for sports injuries he sustained in high school, returned to sports and went on to earn a college football scholarship. Dr. Brooks specializes in sports medicine, shoulder and knee surgery and shoulder replacements.
Within this specialization, he has an extensive scope of work with shoulders and knees as he frequently treats sports and athletics injuries, including rotator cuff, ACL and meniscus, as well as shoulder and knee arthritis.

He completed an orthopaedic sports medicine and shoulder fellowship at The University of Texas Health Science Center where he served as team physician for the Texas 6A North Shore High School Mustangs and provided coverage for the Houston Texans, Houston Astros, Houston Rockets and the University of Houston Cougars.
Dr. Brooks has contributed to multiple published research articles, lectures and case reports and is doing ongoing research in the field. He also volunteers as a reviewer for the American Journal of Sports Medicine.
An East Tennessee native with close family ties in the Knoxville area, he is married to his high school sweetheart, Jordan, and they have two boys. In his free time, Dr. Brooks enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, cheering for the Volunteers, traveling and weightlifting and is an automotive enthusiast.
