Jay W. Winn
Maryville
Exposure to all types of medicine while working in a hospital during college is what sparked Dr. Jay Winn’s interest in attending medical school. He was most fascinated with orthopaedic surgery and decided to pursue it as his medical specialty. After receiving his bachelor’s degree in biological sciences at The University of Tennessee in 1999, he enrolled at the UT Health Science Center in Memphis, earning his medical degree in 2003. He then went on to an internship and orthopaedic residency at Atlanta Medical Center in Atlanta, Georgia. He serves as William Blount High School’s team physician.
Dr. Winn’s greatest satisfaction in practicing orthopaedic medicine is being able to see the patient return to an active lifestyle through either operative or conservative treatment of their condition.
Dr. Winn is married and has one daughter. In his leisure time, Dr. Winn enjoys travel, golf, skiing, tennis, bike riding, hiking and spending time with his family. He is the team physician for Heritage High School.
