UOS Physician Fixes the Broken Leg of a Gorilla at the Knoxville Zoo
Dr. William Oros recently performed a lifetime first—operating on a 385 lb gorilla. Wanto, a 37-year-old silverback western lowland gorilla at the Knoxville Zoo, had a broken femur. Dr. Oros volunteered his time to perform surgery on the fracture.
