Dr. Maguire is a spine surgeon at Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic. He went to medical school at the University of Tennessee in Memphis and was honored to be inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. More than 50 Nobel Prize winners have been AΩA members. Dr. Maguire did his orthopaedic surgery residency at the world-renowned Campbell Clinic in Memphis. It is one of the oldest orthopaedic surgery programs in the country and has for many years published the multi-volume textbook considered to be the “bible” of orthopaedic surgery. Dr. Maguire spent a year in spine surgery fellowship training under the world-renowned pioneer in spine surgery Dr. Edward Simmons.

Dr. Maguire was the first fellowship-trained spine surgeon to come to Knoxville. He is one of the most experienced spine surgeons in Knoxville, having done over 5,000 surgeries on the neck and back in the last 26 years. He is the only surgeon in Knoxville who is a member of the Scoliosis Research Society. This prestigious organization only accepts members who have contributed to research on spinal deformity. Dr. Maguire is also one of only three members of The American Orthopaedic Association in Knoxville. Orthopaedic surgeons who have made a significant contribution to orthopaedic leadership, academic education, research and in the practice of orthopaedic surgery are selected for AOA membership.
