Dr. Short was drawn to the specialty of foot and ankle surgery because the cases are so varied and complex. His greatest satisfaction is being able to go beyond pain management and correct the core issue, which allows his patients to live fuller lives. Dr. Short has a special interest in end-stage ankle arthritis, Achilles tendon disorders, and sports-related injuries. He completed his fellowship at Duke, where they perform the most total ankle replacements in the country. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, craft beer, and hanging out with his wife Jenna and their English bulldog Julep.

What patients say about Dr. short
Thanks to my care at KOC, I can actually sleep, walk, and so much more. I was even able to get on my bicycle and do a little riding. As I continue to heal, I am looking forward to running again and living the outdoor life that I once knew. 10 years ago I had a motorcycle wreck with complete compound fractures to the lower left led and complications from infections. The leg was saved. I suffered this whole time begging someone to amputate. I spoke to many doctors over the past 10 years. Medically, my leg was perfectly good but I could not even get a release to go back to work. I thank God for sending me to Doctor Short. He agreed to amputate. That is the best thing any doctor has ever done for me. 1 month after surgery I was walking on a prosthetic normally and without feeling like my bones rebreaking with each step. I am out of the pain clinic and cannot wait to be in a prosthetic that will enable me to be even more active. I cannot say thank you enough to Dr. Short for the amputation, praying friends and family, and to God who makes all things possible.
