Dr. Robert Smith took excellent care of my Aunt Monna. She fell and it turned out that she had a broken humerous. Since she is 78 and it was a small crack, he was reluctant to put her through the stress of surgery and a long recovery. She spent 6 weeks in a sling and per his instructions, used her arm minimally at most. She was reviewed every couple of weeks for progress and eventually got to go to therapy with Kathy who was incredible as well. She surpassed all expectations and has almost full mobility back in her arm and it healed great without the stress and expense of surgery. Dr. Smith was awesome to her at each visit. She just loved him. I truly appreciate him choosing the best option for her and taking great care of her. He was awesome.
Thanks to my care at KOC, I can enjoy life with much less pain than before. I have to give kudos to the nurses as they were very polite, jolly, and uplifting. I appreciated the atmosphere and all of the staff I encountered. They were down to earth and helped me feel less tense about my meniscus surgery. I experienced almost no pain during the process and 2 days after. The enrollment process was very simple and well organized from the time I got there to billing then surgery. The buzzers were a wonderful way of communicating with me and my family. I give 5 stars out of 5.
Thanks to my care at KOC, I can go to Disney World with my family! Eight weeks post full knee replacement I went with my son's family for a four-day trip to Disney. Thanks to Dr. Nadaud and his fantastic staff, I enjoyed my vacation! I received wonderful care at Knoxville Orthopaedic Center!
Thanks to my care at KOC, I can walk with stability and be active without pain. Dr. Botero has the gift of helping his patients feel comfortable. He sits at your level, has direct eye contact, speaks clearly—always with a plan. He is so wise and thinks carefully about the patient’s needs. I have so much respect for him.
Thanks to my care at KOC, I can now hike in the Smokies and walk without pain!! I now have 500+ miles of hiking under my belt!! In April 2014, Dr. Nadaud performed bilateral total knee replacements on me. Prior to the surgery, I had been in a lot of pain and had a significant limp and altered gait and I had dealt with this for several years. I was reluctant to have such a major surgery but I am so glad that I did! For years before the surgery I could not even walk long enough to shop without so much pain! I dreaded even grocery shopping! Having hiked before my knee problems, I never thought I would be able to hike again. Wrong!! One year after I had the surgery, I was able to hike to Mt LeConte! This past Tuesday we hiked to Mt LeConte again which put my husband and I over the 500 mile mark for hiking in the Smokies since 2016. I attribute my ability to hike to Dr. Nadaud who essentially gave me back my ability to live an active life! I do not have any knee pain now! Of course, I have a little soreness after a long hike but this is normal! The soreness is gone in a day or so even after a long hike! I am so thankful for Dr. Nadaud and his expertise and kindness. I recommend him wholeheartedly! He is the best from my perspective! I am eternally grateful! Thank you Dr. Nadaud!
Thanks to my care at KOC, I can function pain-free for the first time in over a year. Dr. Fry was exceptional.
Thanks to our joint replacements at KOC, we just got back from an Alaskan Cruise and we walked 86 miles! Yep, 86! Thank you Dr. Nadaud for "fixing" us!
Thanks to my care by the beyond talented Dr. Crawford at KOC, I returned to an even better life! Though the story may be forgotten, I was never able to formally thank Dr. Crawford for his care over my severe right ankle injury where 2 bones were fractured with one breaking through my growth plate. This happened in 2016 when I landed on my ankle improperly while playing basketball when I was 14. The injury was traumatic at the time and throughout the process up until Dr. Crawford used his exceptional talent to realign my ankle, giving me a little hope. The recovery was brutal, but eventually I heeded Dr. Crawford's advice and eventually put my trust in his work. With the help of physical therapy and determination I was slowly able to recover beyond Dr. Crawford's and my own expectations. Although he was unsure if would ever walk again, through grit and hard work my ankle has recovered fully and is even more agile than my left now. I'm back to playing basketball even better than before the injury, and it's all thanks to Dr. Crawford's determined work ethic. Not only was he able to save my life from a potentially lethal blood clot, he gave me the ability and courage to walk again and more. So thank you Dr. Crawford, and may you be blessed eternally.
Thanks to my care at KOC, I can do anything I want to do. I love to work in my yard and I love to travel. Thanks to Dr. Covino, I can lead a normal life. Can't say enough good things about him and his great nurse, Tami Anderson.
Doctor Luke Madigan is an outstanding doctor. His exceptional knowledge and care has provided me with the ability to stand up straight again, and be able to walk without pain. I am very thankful!
Thanks to my care at KOC, I can be me again! Words can't fully express my admiration and appreciation for Dr. Madigan. I had lumbar spinal fusion end of June. Now 3 months post-op, and I feel great. I had tried several other treatments including 2 epidurals. Nothing helped, nothing eased the pain. Honestly, I was nervous this wouldn't either. Dr. Madigan was my 2nd opinion and I knew immediately, I trusted him. He was brief, efficient and confident. My surgery took a little over 2 hrs, the 1st three days were really rough, the 1st week was rough. After that, I could tell I was on the mend. I did exactly what he told me to do and not do. I still have days when I feel a twinge of pain but mostly soreness and I feel this is mostly b/c I might over do things a bit sometimes. I am in awe of the talent and dedication of this man. I would, and have recommended him. Thank you so very much, Dr. Madigan, from the bottom of my heart. You are an amazing, talented man.
Thanks to my care at KOC, I can run, show Tennessee Walking Horses, and work with special needs adults! When I was about 10 years old, my ankle was in a great deal of pain. My mom and dad took me to my primary physician's office, where they said my ankle was just “sprained.” My ankle was huge and swollen, bright red, and hot to the touch. My ankle never got any better, so a few days later, my parents took me to a local orthopedist in Athens. That doctor decided to do x-rays, and the pain was almost unbearable. I knew at this point it was more than “just a sprain.” By this point, when my ankle was just barely touched, I yelled in pain. Once he reviewed the x-rays, the doctor told my parents to rush me to Children’s Hospital in Knoxville where Dr. Sears would meet us. Once we got there, I was admitted immediately. Dr. Sears ran several tests, and the conclusion was that I had osteomyelitis. Dr. Sears said it was very rare for a child to have this condition. He told my parents that had I arrived at the hospital much later, I would have lost my leg. Dr. Sears immediately started me on antibiotics and I was at Children’s for 12 days. I ended up going home with a PICC line for 8 weeks, where I received antibiotics throughout this time. The day after my PICC line was removed, I was just walking and fell down in the horse barn, where I then broke my ankle from it being so weak. Dr. Sears treated my broken ankle. I ended up breaking it several times due to my weak ankle bones. Today I am 29 years old, and haven’t broken it in years... and I am thankful today that Dr. Sears saved my leg!
