Patient Testimonials

Thanks to my care at KOC, I can be me again! Words can't fully express my admiration and appreciation for Dr. Madigan. I had lumbar spinal fusion end of June. Now 3 months post-op, and I feel great. I had tried several other treatments including 2 epidurals. Nothing helped, nothing eased the pain. Honestly, I was nervous this wouldn't either. Dr. Madigan was my 2nd opinion and I knew immediately, I trusted him. He was brief, efficient and confident. My surgery took a little over 2 hrs, the 1st three days were really rough, the 1st week was rough. After that, I could tell I was on the mend. I did exactly what he told me to do and not do. I still have days when I feel a twinge of pain but mostly soreness and I feel this is mostly b/c I might over do things a bit sometimes. I am in awe of the talent and dedication of this man. I would, and have recommended him. Thank you so very much, Dr. Madigan, from the bottom of my heart. You are an amazing, talented man.

Thanks to my care at KOC, I can run, show Tennessee Walking Horses, and work with special needs adults! When I was about 10 years old, my ankle was in a great deal of pain. My mom and dad took me to my primary physician's office, where they said my ankle was just “sprained.” My ankle was huge and swollen, bright red, and hot to the touch. My ankle never got any better, so a few days later, my parents took me to a local orthopedist in Athens. That doctor decided to do x-rays, and the pain was almost unbearable. I knew at this point it was more than “just a sprain.” By this point, when my ankle was just barely touched, I yelled in pain. Once he reviewed the x-rays, the doctor told my parents to rush me to Children’s Hospital in Knoxville where Dr. Sears would meet us. Once we got there, I was admitted immediately. Dr. Sears ran several tests, and the conclusion was that I had osteomyelitis. Dr. Sears said it was very rare for a child to have this condition. He told my parents that had I arrived at the hospital much later, I would have lost my leg. Dr. Sears immediately started me on antibiotics and I was at Children’s for 12 days. I ended up going home with a PICC line for 8 weeks, where I received antibiotics throughout this time. The day after my PICC line was removed, I was just walking and fell down in the horse barn, where I then broke my ankle from it being so weak. Dr. Sears treated my broken ankle. I ended up breaking it several times due to my weak ankle bones. Today I am 29 years old, and haven’t broken it in years... and I am thankful today that Dr. Sears saved my leg!

Thanks to my ACL and meniscus repair with Dr. Rappé, I can resume hiking the Appalachian trail with my brothers. Not sure if we will finish in our lifetimes, but what we can do is very meaningful.

Thanks to my care at KOC, I can resume life with very limited restriction. I fell backwards from an attic pull down ladder and “caught” myself with my hands extended behind me. I was seen at a local ER and then visited KOC. After 2 weeks of casting it was determined that I would need surgery on my left wrist to realign and stabilize. Dr. Rogozinski was very thorough in his explanation of the surgical procedure and understanding of my anxiety concerning surgery. This was the first surgery I had ever needed so I was a bit nervous. Surgery went well as did all follow up appointments. I have completed occupational therapy with Michelle Carr who was also excellent and very encouraging. With continued hand exercises at home I have been able to return to my regular daily activities and classes at the gym. My scar is virtually invisible thanks to the skill of Dr. Rogozinski. I was very impressed and would highly recommend him to anyone needing hand or upper extremity care.

Thanks to my care at KOC, I can find the relief I need. Dr. Fry and his staff were courteous and highly professional. Have never felt more cared for by a doctor or staff. He was very patient even with an obvious workload. Filled me in on every detail and made my final decision easy.

Dr. Herman G. Botero and his talented team's performance was absolutely outstanding. I simply followed his detailed recovery plan and within six weeks after the knee replacement I was able to achieve perfect range of motion and resume all my daily activities with no pain. This experience was completely different as compared to a previous knee replacement performed on my other knee. His thorough screening, information booklet, daily phone text program geared to my situation, follow-up appointments, and specified physical therapy visits made my experience a success. Lastly, I seldom provide reviews; however, having experienced multiple surgeries as an older 30 year service-member, Dr. Botero and his team are clearly the best I've experienced. I give him my highest recommendation and thanks.

Thanks to my care at KOC, I can do gardening again, walk my dog uphill, do shopping without a walker. All adaptive equipment is in storage. My pain level is zero and that is without even Tylenol. I am a 75-year-old female who had a serious fall and was hospitalized for spinal fractures. The pain was excruciating and took away the active lifestyle I was used to. Dr. Madigan was recommended to me and the care he gave me was extra special. He took the time to explain the situation and the projected outcome of the operation and answered every question we had in non-clinical language. His surgical spine expertise is exactly what I needed. Need I say more? Thanks Doc.

Thanks to my care at KOC, I can live again. Dr. Spencer is a Godsend! This surgery was my fifth surgery and I must say, the best of all my previous experiences. He is a true professional in every sense of the word! He not only made my day, he’s given me my arm back. And what a team! Jeff and Anita make this team the “A” team! Thanks so much!!

Thanks to my care at KOC, I can recommend a great doctor to my mom friends. One of the best bedside manners I have experienced with a doctor and I am great friends with most of my doctors. I would highly recommend him. Extremely knowledgeable and made me feel like my son was his top priority when he was with us.

Thanks to my care at KOC, I can now walk with no pain. Dr. Botero is a very solid professional and goes about his services in a professional manner. He is courteous, direct and pleasing to discuss issues. He enjoys a great reputation in this area and I am pleased to add my positive comments to his reputation. My husband CJ and I are very pleased with our relationship with Dr. Botero and send our thanks for his solution to a serious physical problem. Again, Dr. Botero is a an excellent medical professional and we appreciate is considerate care. KOC is fortunate to have Dr. Botero.

Thanks to my care at KOC, my daughter can walk without pain in her left foot. She has never felt better. My daughter was born with a condition that caused her to walk on the outside of her foot. This caused her discomfort and she had been in many braces. After seeing Dr. Crawford and proceeding with the surgery, she can walk, run and there is no pain. He is an incredible person!

I had torn my tendon and bicep in March of 2018. My first surgery wasn't at KOC and that's another long story. I found Dr. Spencer 7 months later still with lots of pain and very low mobility. He did a capsular release on me which is getting a lot, and I mean a lot, of scare tissue out so I could hopefully get more mobility. He did a great job on my shoulder. I couldn't be happier. I ride horses and it means a lot to me that I can throw my 23-pound saddle on my horse. Dr. Spencer I can't thank you enough. I'm pain free and that means the most to me. Thank you Dr. Spencer for giving me my life back. I now can do what I wanna do with my horses. This past Saturday I rode 22 miles on my horse. It was great.
