Thanks to my care at KOC, I can continue doing the job that I love as a school resource officer in regards to keeping staff and children safe through the day in order for them to be able to learn and grow. December 03, 2018, while enjoying some time with my grandchildren, I fell while having fun and roller skating at the age of 58. On January 24, 2019, Dr. Holloway did my rotator cuff surgery which required (9) anchors due to the extent of my injury. After my surgery, I honestly wondered if I would ever be normal again and return to the job I love. I was told that an injury such as mine can take up to a year to fully recover from. Dr. Holloway immediately assigned my physical therapy after surgery where I was fortunate to meet two great ladies, Katie and Tammy. I can't say enough about these ladies and actually all the staff at the Old Weisgarber location. With their help and encouragement I was able to return to my job after approximately two and a half months. The positive and reassuring outlook of these two ladies made me want to show up and give it my all each time. I have to be 100 percent to do the job that I do and I give all credit to Dr. Holloway and the therapy center staff to help me get back to what I do best. They have my undying gratitude.
A few years ago I started having serious pain in my shoulders and at times I could hardly lift my arms above my shoulders. I was scheduled to see Dr. Spencer and Jeff Jarnagin PA at KOC. After X-rays were taken Jeff Jarrigan started injections in the joints to relieve the pain. Jeff never one time failed to hit the joint the first time with no discomfort. He helped me to be able to function for months and months before finally having to do surgery. A Godly man who explains what he can do and one who really cares for you. Jeff Jarnagin and Dr. Spencer are one amazing team. Both were with me before the shoulder replacement surgery, during surgery and after surgery. I was even allowed to go home the same day of the surgery. All through the surgery and physcial therapy the pain has been very very minimal. What a pleasant experience to be able to look forward to a doctor's visit.
Thanks to my ACL surgery by Dr. Betcher, I was able to recover in just over 4 months and win a state title in wrestling. I am now a junior at the University of the Cumberland where I play DE. I made a 4.0 this past semester in Biology. I am studying to become a PA.
Thanks to my lower back surgery with Dr. Madigan, I can do anything I want. Absolutely thrilled with the results from my surgery!
While just 5 days out of surgery, I am very pleased with the progress. I am well ahead of what I expected as far as pain and mobility. Dr. Madigan did a fantastic job of outlining the source of my problems and laid out the different options available to me. Together we chose a path of care and identified the struggles and the issues. While it has only been one week, I am well ahead of what I had expected. While spinal fusion is a serious path to take, Dr. Madigan helped me understand the risk and the rewards and was able to easily explain the process. I have enjoyed the care provided by him and his assistance through this process.
Thanks to my care at KOC, I can use my thumb when writing and many other things without pain. I had a severe arm trauma to my right arm in 2005. Dr. Ivy took care of me doing surgery and repaired as much as could be done to save my arm. It was a very traumatic accident and I don't think I would have survived what I had to go through without Dr. Ivy! I also had carpel tunnel surgery under his care, and again was so pleased with the outcome! He is an amazing doctor and I have recommended him to so many people who have also been very pleased with him. I wouldn't go anywhere else! I highly recommend to use him for any of your arm or hand needs! He is the best!
Thanks to my care at KOC, I can WALK! I can go to aerobics class and bend my knees. I am no longer in pain. I feel I have a new lease on life. I had minimal pain during my recovery period. Am so grateful for the help I received from Dr. Smith and the KOC rehab team! I had arthritis for 7 years in both knees. My left knee was the worst, and continued to worsen over time. My job required a lot of walking. Also, my husband and I love to travel, and love to walk and sight see on our trips. Over time, cortisone shots were no longer effective. When I had been sitting, my left leg would be so stiff, it would be a long time before I could stand and walk. Friends and family would have to wait on me. Also, I was in a lot of pain. Finally, I had knee replacement surgery in February 2019. Dr. Robert Smith with KOC had been my doctor through all of this. He had been so kind and helpful. He did my surgery. He, his staff, and the KOC rehab team got me through everything successfully. I feel like I have a new life!
Thanks to my care at KOC, I can now do almost everything with my shoulder! Almost 100% mobility, can lift heavy things again. I had two previous surgeries from doctors that did me wrong and have suffered for 5 years from their surgeries. Dr. Spencer worked a miracle on me and I'm now waiting to get my right shoulder done. He and his PA-C Jeff Jarnagin have been so kind and reassuring to me and I really feel that I am cared about. I highly recommend him to anyone with shoulder problems, in fact, I already did and my friend was told not to have surgery. Now that's amazing coming from a surgeon in my opinion. The office people are also first rate.
Thanks to my care at KOC, I can finally walk around without knee pain. Dr. Smith was great in explaining every step and exactly what I needed to do after the surgery. Thanks so much to Dr. Smith and his team for a wonderful experience!
Thanks to my care at KOC, I could continue working long hours on my feet all day. Dr. Testerman is my kind of doctor - hands on, direct and to the point, doesn't waste time. I really like her. She keeps treating and working with you until you get relief. Staff is also very nice.
Thanks to my care at KOC, I can work in my yard which I love to do, walk for relaxation, and play with my grandkids without any pain. I have been able to do those things before six weeks after my total right knee replacement and it just gets better. It has been four years since I could do those things completely and the last year and a half it degenerated to the point of inactivity. I have a new lease on life which will help my weight get back to what it was. Dr. Botero and his staff are wonderful. Obviously they have tremendous expertise in knee replacement but they are also very kind and thorough. The booklet they give you is invaluable. Parkwest Hospital is great in this field and did a great job of supporting Dr. Botero and staff.
I saw Dr. Madigan. My wife and I both felt very sucure with him instantly. Ver good bed side manners, talks very clear. And that's great when you're hard of hearing. He was a very quick to inform us both of what he was going to do as a surgen. Showed us the problem and what he could do do help me with my back pain. And I have to say he was absolutely one of the best. He and his assistant Raven are on top of things. Would recommed him as a doctor with great bedside manners. He does what he says and in a very timely manner. Keeps you in the loop all the time. Thank you Dr. Madigan for such great care. We would very highly recomment KOC family of doctors. They do know what they're doing.
