The first ever Boots, Blue Jeans, and Bourbon shoulder conference was a huge success. The event on September 23 was a collaboration between Dr. Edwin Spencer from Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic, Dr. Jed Kuhn from Vanderbilt, and Dr. Quin Throckmorton from Campbell Clinic.
The American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) course, held at Music City Center in Nashville, provided practicing surgeons with the most up-to-date information for the assessment and treatment of various shoulder conditions. Speakers included experts from all over the country.
"Our training was a big hit with the 100 physicians who attended this year," said Dr. Spencer, a fellowship-trained shoulder and elbow surgeon who's been with KOC for more than 14 years. "We're lucky to have amazing shoulder surgeons like Dr. Kuhn and Dr. Throckmorton at academic centers right here in Tennessee, and I was honored to partner with them to put on this conference for our colleagues coming in from many states."
Boots, Blue Jeans, and Bourbon had such a great turnout that the three Tennessee shoulder surgeons have decided to make it an annual event.
