Dr. Gaylord grew up in Knoxville, the son of UT neonatologist Dr. Mark Gaylord and Dr. Nan Gaylord, professor at the UT College of Nursing and director of the Vine School Health Clinic. After extensive training around the U.S. and Canada, he is pleased to be back home practicing with Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic.
Dr. Gaylord chose pediatric orthopaedics because he wanted to be able to help children and see how their treatment improves the rest of their lives. He is especially interested in treating fractures, deformities of the extremities and spine, and congenital abnormalities.
In his spare time Dr. Gaylord enjoys sports, traveling, and being part of the Vol Navy. He is married to Lauren Bell Gaylord, a pediatric nurse practitioner and native Knoxvillian, and they have one young son.

Doctor Gaylord preformed surgery on my grandson. He followed through by finding a plastic surgeon that would help when many others declined. Most amazing was that while Children’s Hospital only does surgeries Monday through Friday, Doctor Gaylord made this happen on a Saturday. Not to mention that it was Easter weekend. I have shed many tears of appreciation for this kind person that I will never encounter again. Dr Gaylord, the care factor that you have is beyond amazing.
Thank You. A million thank yous!!

Thanks to my son's care at KOC, I can rest easy knowing he is taken great care of. Dr. Gaylord will not preform unnecessary surgeries or procedures. He is awesome with Carson, who has cerebral palsy. Carson loves him.

Thanks to the care provided by Dr. Gaylord during his fellowship at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, I was able to return to competitive lacrosse. As captain of the Peterborough Jr. C Lakers, we were able to win the Meredith Cup as Provincial Jr. C Champions. I am also playing lacrosse for Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario. Thank you for all you did for me.

Thanks to my care at KOC, I can enjoy playing sports again. I want to thank Dr. Gaylord and his staff for caring for me when I had my accident. My brother and I had an ATV accident where I was thrown off and landed on my right arm. I was taken by my parents to the ER in Greeneville. They referred me to KOC. There I met and was treated by Dr. Gaylord. He was very nice and showed a lot of compassion for my injury. No surgery was required even though there was a break in my growth plate. Dr. Gaylord showed me exercises when the time was right and now I can play sports. Thank you so much Dr. Gaylord!

Everyone that helped my little girl was so sweet to her. Dr. Gaylord is adorable. His bedside manner with children is top notch. After he spoke to my 7 year old daughter about her broken arm, she said "I think he really loves me, mom." He made her feel like she was so special and important to him. Thanks Dr. Gaylord!

Thanks to my care at KOC, I can continue drumming for the rest of my life! I didn't receive medical treatment because I did not need it, but Dr. Gaylord really encouraged me not to give up on drumming and to continue my passion as a drummer. He gave me great advice for my hurting wrists to feel better!
